Highly coveted Italian golf establishment joins association
Known to many as birthplace of Enzo Ferrari or Luciano Pavarotti, Modena is also home to one of the most distinguished golf clubs in Italy. Modena Golf & Country Club has opened in 1989 and quickly gained international attention for its outstanding Parkland-style layout and some very tricky holes designed for aggressive play. Challenges owed to German Pro Bernhard Langer who has designed the course to suit his own taste just as much as that of any experienced golfer.
Thankfully, a good choice of 6 tees allow players of any level to enjoy the gracious fairways bordered by an almost disconcerting number of sizeable bunkers and numerous water hazards. While the old tree population and other natural and historical landmarks guide the way across the courses over 100 hectares, coming back to the clubhouse is just as gratifying as it is known for its excellent cuisine, but also offers respite at the cosy bar or the coffee shop. And chances are good that some Ferrari or other does park right out front, so guests may get to share yet another sportive passion without visiting the Ferrari Formula 1 Museum at Maranello.
