WLG NETWORKING DAY AT DENMARK'S THE SCANDINAVIAN
Former Monte Rei CEO David Shepherd hosts WLG event at his current sphere of action
On Thursday, the 10th of August, World of Leading Golf welcomed a number of representatives of WLG member clubs in Northern Europe as well as potential members and other interested parties for an informal get-together at The Scandinavian Golf Club in Denmark. After a fruitful evening, some of the participants, WLG CEO Claus Feldt among them, switched clubs to join in on the popular Liebhaverboligen Golf Invitational hosted by Golf & Business Butler at the Simons Golf Club.
Getting together at the progressive The Scandinavian Golf Club was a fortunate coincidence especially for those WLG member club representatives already on good terms with club manager David Shepherd. Shepherd had just recently left his post at WLG member club and “Best Member” award winner Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, so his good reputation preceded him and everyone was happy to have him explain the characteristics, status and strategics of the renowned Danish club to them – contents giving enough reason for a first lively discussion amongst the guests.
Besides CEO Claus Feldt and WLG AmbassadorJan Pedersen, these were Thomas Ahlberg from WLG member club Bokskogen Golfklubb and Jörgen Kjellgren from WLG member Bastad Golf as well as Pert Lindroth from Barsebäck G&CC, Sören Vadmand from the Great Northern and Peter Enne Jespersen from Skjoldnaesholm GC. Bokskogen Golfklubb and Bastad Golf only recently joined World of Leading Golf and will be presented in full soon on this platform.
After the revealing club presentation and a short overview of the newest developments at World of Leading Golf and its member’s benefits, the open exchange of experiences and ideas proceeded into dinner time. As with other World of Leading Golf networking events, the occasion was well used to deepen contacts and work on means of cooperation amongst member clubs and associates.
The next day presented a number of the evening’s guests with the chance to check out another well-known golf club in the region: They formed a team to play the Liebhaverboligen Golf Invitational 2017 at the Simons Golf Club hosted by Golf Business Butler, a luxury golf service provider headed by Jan Pedersen. Since last year, Pedersen also serves as World of Leading Golf Ambassador and forges contacts all over Scandinavia in the interest of the association.
World of Leading Golf CEO Claus Feldt, played in one team with David Shepherd and Thomas Ahlberg as well as the former CEO at Vasatorp, Marc Potter. Picking up on the subjects of yesterday’s meeting, the team members had a lot to talk about while playing, so winning truly was only a secondary target at the entertaining match.
